Special Partners

Just Between Friends is pleased to continue its special partnership with the Community Enrichment Center's Open Arms Program, Teen Lifeline,  and Fort Worth Metro!

Consignors have the opportunity to donate their unsold items to these three great organizations listed above.  Just Between Friends is also pleased to donate a portion of their profits to the Open Arms Program which provides hope and caring to victims of domestic violence through a long-term program structured to help women heal and rebuild their lives away from their abusers. In addition to providing safe housing, food, and clothing, Open Arms provides instruction on parenting, budgeting, career development, recognition of abusive traits, and anger control.  Open Arms can house up to 20 women and their children.  In order to break the generational cycle of abuse, children in the program receive specialized counseling, support group, and educational classes.  Approximately 85% of the women graduate from the Program and go on to lead healthy, productive lives.  Open Arms also provides information, education, referrals, crisis intervention, food, clothing, and family counseling to approximately 125 individuals from the community per month.  Funding for the Open Arms Program comes from donations received from individuals, churches, companies, special events, and proceeds from revenues generated by their Second Glance Resale Shop. Visit their web site at www.thecec.org to learn more about this wonderful program and the difference you can make in the lives of women and children affected by domestic violence.

Fort Worth Metro is a faith-based non-profit organization that has been in operation for 12 years.  Their mission is to reach people in the inner-city and equip them to bring positive change in their communities.  They go into high crime, low income areas in Fort Worth and work with anywhere between 1,000 and 1,500 children on a weekly basis, meeting social, physical, and spirtual needs through their program.  Fort Worth Metro's primary means of reaching out is through the use of their sound truck - a converted moving truck that turns into a sound stage.  Their weekly programs consist of games, prizes, giveaways, and weekly challenges to the kids.  They share their beliefs in Christ while encouraging these kids to live right lives, making good choices and making a difference in their community.  They provide clothing, groceries, school shoes, school supplies and much more.  Their biggest events are Christmas, Thanksgiving, and Summer Camp where they take 300-400 kids to Maypearl, Texas for a weekend camp.  Visit their website  to learn more about this great program - www.fortworthmetro.org.

Teen Lifeline is a faith-based non-profit organization that seeks to provide a non-threatening place where teens can learn the tools they need to navigate difficult times and thrive in a demanding world.  This happens through our Teen Parents program and CELL groups.  Teen Parents meets once per month and provides baby supplies to mothers and their children.  These generous donations come from people like JBF's generous consignors who have donated thier unsold items after a sale ends.  Resource speakers advise on parenting and life skills that help these young parents provide a better life for their children and for them and each mother is paired with a mentor.  Teen Lifeline also provides other services to our community and we encourage you to visit their website at www.lifelivedbetter.org to find out more information about this vital community outreach.
