Welcome to our website!

Pam McKnight-Willingham

My daughter, Shannon, and her business partner, Daven, started Just Between Friends in Tulsa in 1997. My work as a minister to single-parent families in a church of around 5000 keeps me busy, but I've found ways to carve out time for my business.  I have probably had more experience as a volunteer with JBF sales than anyone else just starting out, since I have helped both of my daughters with their sales. It was fun volunteering for them but it's even more fun now that I'm a JBF owner and have a financial interest in the outcome.

Because my first husband was disabled for almost 17 years before his death, I had very little saved and still owed 20 years on my home when he died in 1998. I thought JBF would be a way I could not only pay off my house, but also be able to do some optional things that I hadn't even allowed myself to dream about - like traveling more, maybe moving to a different/newer home, and being able to retire from my full-time job sooner than planned. I know what the possibilities are because I have seen Shannon and Daven's sale grow way beyond what I had imagined it could. My circumstances changed in November of 2004 when, after being single for 6 years after Doug's death, I married Mike and gained not only a wonderful husband but a "volunteer" who works without even the expectation of a presale pass.

Joanie and I met when I was a board member of Open Arms Home and she was the Financial Manager for the non-profit.

JBF fits into my core belief system of helping others. It's a win-win for everyone whether they are buying, selling or just volunteering so they can shop early.

I love it!

While working at Open Arms Home
as their Financial Manager, I became
friends with Pam who was on our
Board of Directors. One day I shared
with Pam that I was trying to figure out
how to someday be a stay-at-home
mom. At the time, I had no children.
I wasn’t sure if that dream could
become a reality. Pam mentioned in
passing her daughters’ sales and before
you knew it, she and I decided to partner
together for the Fort Worth sale. We
hurriedly put together a sale for the Fall
of 2003 – having it at my house and in
my back yard. It was exciting and crazy.
To top off that great beginning, God
blessed me and my husband, Kelly, five
days before our first sale with our first
adopted child, Blake. So within one week,
I became a mom for the first time, had
our first JBF sale in my house (with brand
new baby tucked away in the bedroom!),
and was able to quit my job as an
accountant. What a start!

Many sales later, our growth continues
as our sales increase in size. I love the way
everyone is happy at the JBF sales. The
consignors make more money at JBF than
they can make reselling their children’s
items anywhere else, the volunteers have
fun and love the chance to shop early, the
shoppers love the amazing bargains and our
non-profit partners benefit so much from
the generosity of our consignors. What a
great business to be part of – one where
everyone is happy!

When my family isn’t JBF’ing, we love to
travel and we enjoy being involved with
the ministries at our church.  I'm so thankful to be part of JBF and also love all of the new friends I've made with shoppers, volunteers, and consignors!  Moms helping Moms...that's a great thing to be part of!
