Merchandise Preparation

Please follow these guidelines for preparing your sale items

All NEW CONSIGNORS are invited to join us at one of our JBF101 "How To" Clinics to learn how to prepare your items for the sale and what to expect at JBF.  Contact joanie@jbfsale.com for details.  PLEASE NOTE:  All JBF101 Clinics before our Fall sale have now been held.  We will be scheduling more of these before our Spring sale, so make sure you are on our email mailing list so you will get information about them once they are scheduled.

Our new barcoding software makes preparing your items for the sale so FAST and so EASY!  Please note that JBF FORT WORTH REQUIRES ALL ITEMS TO BE PREPARED WITH THE BARCODED TAGS.  It just takes a few minutes to learn how to do the tags, and once you try it, you'll see why it is such a big improvement.  No more hand-written tags will be accepted.  The barcoding software was written just for Just Between Friends and you will love being able to go online and track your sales at the end of each day.  Please remember that some of our selling days finish after midnight, so some days' sales may not show up until the following morning.

HERE'S HOW TO DO YOUR ONLINE BARCODED TAGS (see example above and to the right):
1.  If you don't already have a consignor number for the Fort Worth JBF sale, go to our Online Signup Page and get one.  You will need to remember this number for Step #2.  If you already have a consignor number for the Fort Worth sale, just make sure you've done your online signup and let us know you are coming!
2.  Log on to www.myjbftags.com
3.  Create an account, if you don't already have one from the last sale.
4.  Enter and print your tags (on white card stock only so the scanners will be able to read your barcode.)  Tags print 4 to a page and are slightly smaller than the standard 3 x 5 card.

5.  Track your sales online as the sale progresses.  (Please remember that selling goes on until Midnight a few nights, so your sales for each day may not be updated online until the morning hours.)

Detailed instructions are available on www.myjbftags.com.

***REMEMBER:  TO BE A CONSIGNOR, YOU MUST CONSIGN 25 ITEMS OR ITEMS TOTALING $50 IN VALUE.***

Please realize that these tagging guidelines are in place for your benefit.  There is a chance that you might not receive proper credit for your sale if your tags are not done according to these instructions.  Following these simple instructions will help us avoid any confusion on your item.

TAG PREPARATION GUIDELINES

1.  As mentioned above, please use only white card stock for your tags.  Tags made out of plain paper are very likely to tear off of your item, which would prevent your item from being sold since we do not sell items without a tag.

2.  If you decide to change your price on your barcoded tag, you will have to redo your tag as the price and the 25% Off and 1/2 Price indicator are actually part of the actual barcode striping.  Any tag found with price changes written by hand will be scanned at the original price - because that is how the barcode will read at the register.

3.  If you wish to donate your unsold item, please indicate that when you are preparing your barcode.  There is a box for you to check if you want it to be donated at the end of the sale if it does not sell.

4.  If you wish for your item to go 25% off and then 1/2 Price at the end of the sale, please make that selection when you prepare your barcoded tags.  This will be indicated on your tag (items that are not reduced in price will have a star on the tag).  This indicator is also part of the barcode, so if you change your mind on this, you will have to redo your tag so it won't be marked down at the register automatically when it is scanned.

Please follow these instructions EXACTLY.  Items must be prepared as indicated by tagging instructions.  Just Between Friends is not responsible for lost or stolen merchandise or tags.

Click HERE for instructions on how to put your tag on different items - clothing, toys, books, furniture, etc.  There is a different web page for each different kind of merchandise.  Please note that we DO NOT ACCEPT "R" rated movies at our sale.

OTHER MERCHADISE AND PRICING GUIDELINES

Only Fall/Winter children's and maternity clothing will be accepted for this sale (in addition to all your other great non-clothing kids' items). Please inspect your items carefully at home - we will also inspect them at Drop-Off. Clothes that are soiled, stained or with holes, will not be accepted. Just Between Friends reserves the right to reject any unacceptable items. We accept Boys and Girls sizes preemie thru Pre-teen.  No Junior sizes or adult clothing accepted except maternity.

PRICING you set the price! Price to sell keeping in mind the quality, name brand and condition of your items. JUST BETWEEN FRIENDS suggests starting at 1/3 of the original price. We also suggest that you let your clothing items be included in the 25% Off and 1/2 Price Sale. Mark the starting price up if it is something that you are sentimental about, but of course, it is your decision if it is half price or not. Pricing of items is in $1.00 or .50 cent increments.

$3.00 Rule -  If your single, hanging clothing item cannot bring $3.00 on it's own, please pair it with something that will bring it to this amount. This only applies to clothing, not toys/equipment. JUST BETWEEN FRIENDS will be conducting strict inspection of your items. Unacceptable items will be returned to you. Remember - we inspect the items carefully so that we can bring Fort Worth the best in gently used children's clothing.  We recommend using child-sized plastic-coated wire hangers to hang your items.  These hangers can be found at Wal-Mart.  These are preferred because they take up less room on the racks and they are also better for running your safety pin around when you attach your price tag.  Remember, the more secure your item and tag are to the item/hanger, the better chance the tag and item will stay together and you will get the credit you deserve for your sold item.

  • Attach safety pin up and down, vertically on the card.
  • Use only one inch or larger safety pins to attach tag. No straight pins. safety pin
  • Pin clothing sets securely together with pants hung on the backside of the shirt and pinned at the waist on the hanger. Both pieces can be viewed without unpinning them. Pants hung on a separate hanger tend to come off the hanger and then get separated from the top.

Spending a little extra time getting your items ready will mean more money for you.  Items that are cleaned, ironed, and starched, with all pieces attached, and loose threads clipped sell much better!
